Radio Marsden supports The Marsden March

On Saturday 2nd April at 6pm Radio Marsden will broadcast a special programme about the first ever Marsden March, which took place on Sunday.

The programme will celebrate the 2,000 walkers who marched from the Royal Marsden Hospital in Chelsea to the site in Sutton, and feature interviews with walkers, celebrities, hospital staff and clips of musical performances from the day.

The major event was organised to raise funds for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity and to enable family and friends to show support for a loved one.

Several Radio Marsden volunteers raised sponsorship to participate in the march and heard the stories of fellow walkers along the way.

A number of celebrities took part in the walk, including actor Larry Lamb – Archie Mitchell in Eastenders – who told Radio Marsden: “It’s a wonderful day. I can’t believe the atmosphere!”

The Marsden March Party, held at the Sutton Royal Marsden Hospital, was hosted by Radio Marsden and featured live music from local bands including Vanquish.
