Shoppers dig deep for Radio Marsden

Sutton shoppers were urged to dig deep to help raise funds for Radio Marsden.

Volunteers from Radio Marsden were out in force in the High Street on Saturday entertaining shoppers with music and raising money to keep the station running.

And Val Reynolds, Radio Marsden’s fund-raising officer, said shoppers had been generous.

“Year after year, the shoppers of Sutton show extreme generosity towards Radio Marsden,” she said.

“This year, their support managed to raise an incredible £1,464.88, which will help to meet the increasing running costs of the station.”

And Neal Mullery, the station’s Vice Chairman, said: “We would also like to thank the Management and Staff of Boots in Sutton who let us use their forecourt each year to have a bit of fun and raise these funds – it was a great day with a wonderful total at the end of it”.
