Ways to listen online

We now provide a variety of online streams.

The links below will allow you to access these through your computer or via smartphone apps and WiFi radios. We’re available through the search function on most WiFi radios – just search for Radio Marsden.

We’re also available via the TuneIn Radio app, which is available from the app store on most smartphones.

Our main stream is 128kb/s in the MP3 format. This is the best stream for most users as it generally works without the need for special media player software. The direct address is http://stream.radiomarsden.co.uk:8080/listenlive

AAC and AAC+ are more modern audio formats and deliver higher quality than MP3 at lower bitrates (measured in kb/s).

For similar quality, we have a stream in the AAC+ format at 72kb/s. The quality is almost identical to 128kb/s MP3 but uses a third less data – important if you’re listening on a mobile phone with a data limit (don’t forget, the Royal Marsden has free, unlimited WiFi throughout the hospitals!). The direct address is http://stream.radiomarsden.co.uk:8080/listenlive_AAC72

For the highest quality, we provide a top quality stream at 320kb/s in the AAC format. The address is http://stream.radiomarsden.co.uk:8080/listenlive_AAC320

For listening on the move, we recommend our 48kb/s stream in the AAC+ format. The address is http://stream.radiomarsden.co.uk:8080/listenlive_AAC48

You may need to download a media player, particularly for the AAC streams. We recommend the VLC Media Player, available for most operating systems.
